Thank you to everyone for helping make the Forest Preserve Foundation Young Professionals Association Kayaking event a huge success!  The YPA met Saturday, June 4 at Kickapoo woods in Riverdale, IL for a day of kayaking and canoeing on the Little Calumet River.  Despite a little bit of rain (and plenty of mud!), this event was well attended and a great success.  We were able to raise $465!

Young Professionals Association of the Forest Preserve Foundation

The Young Professionals Association is a committee of the Forest Preserve Foundation dedicated to raising awareness about the benefits and opportunities offered by the Forest Preserves of Cook County.  It accomplishes its mission by organizing events and volunteer opportunities. Members serve as ambassadors for the Forest Preserve Foundation, promoting programs that are made possible through private donations. Members also support the Foundation through the group's own fundraising efforts.

Proceeds from the YPA fundraising efforts will be used to support the Conservation Corps program, which engages teens and young adults in workforce development programs for them to gain work experience and exposure to careers in conservation, while advancing the habitat restoration goals within the forest preserves.
